This is officially the first chapter of the second generation, with Evander heading up the legacy as heir now that our founder has passed.
A lot has happened in the Plain household since Jane's passing.
Things are sad around the house as of late, but Dedric has finally climbed the ranks and completed his LTW of being the CEO of a Mega Corporation!
Caroline also mastered the logic skill and completed her LTW.
As much as I would hate to see them go, I think it's about time for Caroline and her small family to move out. Evander and Willa need space to start creating a family of their own.
Martin's birthday approached quickly. It was decided that after he blew out his candles, Dedric, Caroline, and Martin would say their goodbyes and start an independent life outside of the legacy house.
The family cheered on as Martin grew into an adorable toddler who seemed to take after his mother in looks but received his father's coloring.
And as promised, right after his celebration, the three moved out on their own into a nice family-friendly home across town. Their new house costed a pretty penny, leaving Evander and Willa with a fairly small bank account.
Not that they minded too much. The house was much quieter with just the two of them, and neither of them were complaining.
They took advantage of the newfound privacy.
Their alone time was promptly spent in the bedroom. Having the house just to the two of them was nice, but they didn't intend for it to stay empty for so long.
Willa wanted to have kids before she got too far into her political career. She couldn't imagine walking up the steps of City Hall in her business-savvy heels with old lady ankles.
They were at a good place in their lives, and now seemed like perfect timing.
The very next morning, Willa was plagued with morning sickness. She knew she had to be expecting, but she wanted to wait until she knew for sure before she told Evander the news.
She didn't have to wait long for confirmation. Later that evening, she felt the first sign of the life growing inside her. She and Evander were going to be parents!
Willa gave the good news to Evander, and it's safe to say he's excited to be a father.
These two are such a cute couple.
I think Evander was made for fatherhood.
Willa got very big, very fast.
So it wasn't much of a surprise when she went into labor when her friend Sadie came over to chat. Sadie, however, seemed to be in just a bit of shock.
Jane and Connor's old bedroom was converted into a nursery for Sasha, decorated in violets, her favorite color.
Willa spent a lot of time snuggling and playing with her daughter when she wasn't building her charisma skill.
Evander, too, loved to cuddle Sasha.
When they weren't spending time with their new baby, they were spending time together making another baby.
I built a study for Evander, containing a desk and computer, easel, chess table, and bookshelf. (I intend to give a tour of the house in the next chapter or two, since there's been significant change.)
Evander finally mastered the painting skill, so he has now moved onto working on the writing part of his LTW.
Here, you can see the new layout of the house. The study is on the right wing of the house, just above the dining room and home gym. The new master bedroom is on the left wing.
Not featured is Sasha's bedroom.
It wasn't long before Willa was expecting again, and it was also time Sasha's birthday!
Willa threw a birthday party for Sasha, hoping to use it as an opportunity to work on her charisma skill.
The entire Plain family and Willa's coworkers were invited, but only the former maid and Willa actually cheered on Sasha.
Jane and Connor's genes are still going strong! Sasha has Jane's eye color and Connor's hair color. It's too early to tell, but she looks like a good mix between Willa and Evander as far as facial features go.
I think she's pretty cute. :)
This was right before I got new CC default skin and eyes, by the way, which is why you'll see a slight difference in the Plains' appearances later on in this chapter.
Later that same evening, Willa's water broke. Evander and Willa didn't want to leave Sasha home alone, so Willa opted for a home birth.
After several sim-hours of Willa grunting and making hilarious faces, Xander Plain was born in the comfort of their ownbathroom home.
He was born with the insane and grumpy traits, much to Evander and Willa's bewilderment and my own bemusement.
He was moved into Caroline and Dedric's old bedroom, hence the pink walls. Evander instantly took to spending time with his son.
Evander really is such a great dad, and look at those back muscles. Sweet lord.
The wallpaper was eventually changed to match Xander's crib, and Willa spent some mother-son time with her youngest before preparing to get back to work.
A lot of time was also being devoted to teaching Sasha how to walk, talk, and use the potty on her own.
Like his parents once did, Evander split the responsibilities with Willa as much as possible.
But because Willa was quite busy with trying to get back on track with work, it turned out that Evander was spending a lot more time with Sasha than Willa did.
Not that he minded, of course. He loved spending time with his adorable daughter. (Seriously, look how cute she is!) He taught her how to walk and talk fairly quickly.
Willa did, however, do her part in potty-training Sasha.
She even had her birthday during one late night potty-training session.
As you can see, I'm very bad at forgetting about birthdays. Oops.
And now that Sasha had been taught all the essential things, Willa went out every day meeting new friends. Her favorite 'hunting grounds for meeting people was the park.
While Willa was introducing herself to the local handy woman one day, I spotted Martin, Caroline and Dedric's son, in the park. He aged up into pretty cute kid! He looks a lot like Caroline did as a child.
I decided to check out the family tree after spotting him, and Caroline and Dedric have really gotten busy since they've moved out! They have two more boys, a toddler and a baby. I can't remember their names, but I'll include pictures of the family tree in the next chapter, if I remember.
Micah also married his high school sweetheart, Malika, and they have two babies together, as well.
Gah, I love Twallan's Story Progression mod.
Evander spends whatever free time he gets working on perfecting his writing skill. He's getting there, slowly but surely.
One night while Willa was out at a party, the camera panned to a view of Xander lying on the floor.
I was a little confused (and concerned) at first until I realize I had forgotten another birthday, yet again. Crap.
Anyhow, this is the adorableness that he aged up into.
Like Sasha, he got Jane's eyes, but his hair color is completely his mother's and father's. He is absolutely precious.
Here's a totally cute picture of Sasha and her imaginary friend whose name I cannot quite remember at the moment...
