1.5 - Catching Up

The very next morning, Jane awoke feeling nauseous. She knew that she was either very sick or very pregnant, and since sims are typically never sick, it was safe to say she was expecting her second child.

Wanting to give Connor the exciting news in a special way, Jane took her husband on their first date since Caroline was born. It was good for them to get out of the house; they were both going a little stir-crazy.

But Jane got so wrapped up in her husbands' arms that she kind of forgot what tonight was supposed to be all about.

When they got home that evening, she looked at her growing belly in the mirror and knew she had to tell Connor before she started showing too much. She woke him up from his sleep to give him the exciting news: they were going to be parents for a second time!

She shared the news with Connor just in time, because she began to show very quickly. She didn't remember ever being this big with Caroline in the second trimester... she wondered to herself about the possibility of twins.

Speaking of Caroline... She has been somewhat neglected as of late. With Connor publishing books like a machine and Jane painting as often as her pregnancy would allow her, Caroline was left to entertain herself.

She was easily the most skilled toddler in all of Sunset Valley, having mastered the blocks and the xylophone in no time.

Jane managed to finish Connor's portrait fairly quickly. She hung it right beside her own inside the master bedroom, pleased with her work.

Having spent so much of her time in front of the easel, it only made perfect sense that Jane would go into labor in the same spot she had been for the past few days. Connor rushed outside to whisk her to the hospital, leaving a babysitter for Caroline.

Connor and Jane's son, Evander, was born with the artistic and athletic traits.

...and a new addition to the family meant addition to the Plain home. A new bedroom was added on for Evander, with some walls built for structure.

The indoor kitchen and dining room would have to wait until some more money started to flow in. After the construction of Evander's bedroom, funds were seriously low.

Evander's room is decorated in his favorite color: red. I like the idea of designing a room/clothing around the sim's favorite color.

Because adding onto the house drained them of every penny, Jane set out to the park each night, leaving the kids with Connor, to earn money through tips. Considering she had mastered the guitar skill, she brought in a pretty hefty chunk of change each night.

While Jane played for cash, Connor stayed home with the kids. He enjoyed spending time with Evander, even if the dirty diapers and cries interrupted his writing time. Every day, he was getting closer and closer to accomplishing his LTW.

When he wasn't busy being a superdad, Connor was churning out books like nobody's business. He was managing to publish around 3 books a week.

One night when Jane was out playing in the park, Connor quietly celebrate Caroline's birthday. It was time for her to enter childhood.

Caroline grew into a pretty girl who seemed to resemble her mother in every aspect other than her hair. She definitely inherited her father's hair color.

Caroline spent most of her time alone, practicing chess. Her logic skill received a boost from her mastery of the blocks as a toddler. From the moment she sat down to play chess for the first time, she knew her lifetime wish was to be a Chess Legend.

The first day of school was a day that she greeted eagerly. As much as she loved her parents and her chess table, she wanted nothing more than to get out of the house and meet some new friends. School was the perfect place to find a friend or two.

Jane had raked in enough money for the time being and was finally able to spend more time at home with the kids.

Even though it had been more than a few years since she had finished school and arithmetic perplexed her, she still always made it an effort to help Caroline finish her homework.

Just as Caroline was growing up, so was Evander!

Evander grew up into an adorable toddler with his mother's eyes and black hair (?!). I have no idea where that hair came from... Maybe Connor needs a paternity test?

Nah.

But Evander is definitely adorable. I think he'll be a good looking young man in the near-ish future.

Like before with Caroline, Jane was in charge of Evander's learning to walk...

... and Connor was in charge of teaching Evander how to talk. Both of them shared the dreaded responsibility of potty-training.

In spite of having two young children and lifetime wishes to complete, Connor and Jane were intent on keeping the fire burning.

I mean, really burning...

They were spending so much time together, in fact, that Jane soon found herself feeling awfully sick.

Was she pregnant, or had she just forgotten to throw away the leftover autumn salad again?

It was safe to say that the autumn salad had been disposed of when Jane began to show a few days later.

She and Connor were expecting their third child!

I'm not sure how many people, if any, read this and keep up with it.

If you are a reader: thank you! I apologize for a choppy, short writing style. That can be partly attributed to that fact that I am waaaaay ahead in-game (like, third generation ahead) and partly to my inexperience with all of this. I'm trying to catch up on the blog, though, I promise!
